Our government works best when people make their voices heard in the civic process. The Apiary is a statewide community-rooted initiative curated by Civic Nebraska that brings together cohorts of leaders from towns, cities, and campuses across Nebraska, equipping them with the tools, training, and networks to create change.
The 2025-26 cohort kicks off in December 2025 and runs until December 2026. Over the course of a year, participants will learn, lead, and connect in ways that leave a lasting mark on their communities and our state.
AS A PARTICIPANT, YOU WILL:
›› Gain hands-on training in community engagement, policy advocacy, and grassroots organizing.
›› Build practical skills to navigate and influence state and local policy.
›› Design and lead a civic engagement project in your own community.
›› Work alongside fellow Nebraskans to create positive, measurable local impact.
›› Participate in monthly gatherings that connect you with peers and partners across the state.
YOU WILL RECEIVE:
›› A $599 stipend for your year of service.
›› A $250 professional development fund to support your growth.
›› Covered expenses for travel, meals, and lodging during any in-person gatherings.
