Volunteer with Collective Impact Lincoln

We’re in Year 3 of Collective Impact Lincoln, our intensive partnership with Nebraska Appleseed and the South of Downtown Community Development Organization to lift up the Star City’s core neighborhoods. In that time, we’ve been fortunate to have met and worked alongside many Lincolnites who care deeply about the future of their neighborhood and their community. A highlight was in May, when we successfully supported a new humane housing ordinance that benefits residents in high-rental neighborhoods.

Often, we are asked by Lincolnites if there might be anything that they can do to help these specific democracy-building efforts in the capital’s core. Our answer is an unequivocal YES! – we have any number of volunteer opportunities available for those who love their community and want to lend a hand to Collective Impact Lincoln.

In fact, here are three volunteer opportunities. If any – or all! – of these interest you, let José Lemus know.

The civic well-being of neighborhoods, communities, states, and our nation holds the key to the future of our democracy. Being involved in our neighborhoods and communities is a big indicator of a city’s overall civic health – in other words, how a community is organized to define and address public problems. Communities with strong indicators of civic health have higher employment rates, stronger schools, better physical health, and more responsive governments. That’s why Collective Impact Lincoln does what it does – and we’d love to have you join the effort!
