Introducing Logan Niedzielski, our Campbell CLC site leader

Logan Niedzielski, an experienced leader in building youth leaders, is Civic Nebraska’s new school community coordinator at Campbell Elementary School Community Learning Center in Lincoln. He began his duties on June 20.

Logan Niedzielski

A Michigan native, Logan moved with his family to Humboldt when he was five. He has lived in Lincoln since 2017. As the leader of the Campbell CLC in north-central Lincoln, Logan creates opportunities and support services for improved student learning and development, stronger families, and healthier neighborhoods.

He also partners with an array of groups and agencies to provide outside-of-school enrichment for students. This includes community-based organizations, Lincoln Public Schools personnel, and neighborhood residents to support the CLC’s goals.

Logan has worked with kids most of his life – his family ran an in-home daycare during his teenage years and he participated in a youth mentoring program during high school. He continues to work with children and mentors two little brothers through Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“I believe in the saying It takes a village to raise a child,” Logan said. “As technology progresses and access to content becomes easier and easier for youth, they have increasingly more opportunities to become isolated, radicalized, and misinformed. My goal is to build an environment in which youth have access to positive role models and safe spaces in which they can acquire and develop the skills to become positive, active agents in their own communities and development.”

Before joining Civic Nebraska, Logan directed a preschool and child care for three years, and was the program coordinator of a before- and after-school program for 2 1/2 years. He is currently pursuing an education in psychology at Southeast Community College, with plans to transfer to the University of Nebraska in the spring semester. After that, he expects to pursue a postgraduate degree in educational psychology.

“I believe our youth are stronger and more capable than many of us give them credit for, and given these skills, they can change the course of their lives and communities for the better,” Logan said.

We’re awfully glad Logan has joined the Civic Nebraska team and the Campbell community. Join us in welcoming him at lo***************@ci***********.org.
