Collective Impact Lincoln: Housing advocates meetup
September 30, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Lincoln needs more safe and more affordable housing! Let’s get together with our fellow neighbors passionate about advocating for safe and affordable housing to share a meal, discuss strategies, dream big, and plan some next steps to take together. Join us from 5:30 to 7 pm Friday, Sept. 30, at Peter Pan Park for dinner and conversation.
Housing is unaffordable to 45% of Lincolnites who rent at all income levels, and 86% of extremely low-income families spend more than one-third of their income on rent. We work for housing, housing needs to work for us. As advocates, what can we do to move our city to a more equitable housing system? How can we ensure all of our neighbors have a safe and affordable place to call home? Let’s find answers to these questions together. In community we can support each other in our advocacy to find solutions to some of our biggest problems and work towards something better.
The purpose of this event is to give time for housing advocates to connect with each other in person and talk through ideas, visions, and plans. We will have some conversation prompts and small group facilitation for attendees who like a little more structure. If you’re more of a go-with-the-flow type, you’re also welcome to wander and mingle!
