Ayanna Almaguer stepped into the role of site director at Civic Nebraska’s Community Learning Center at Sherman Elementary School in Omaha earlier this year.
Ayanna oversees all day-to-day operations at the Sherman CLC, part of our Youth Civic Leadership civic enrichment program. She works closely with school administrators, teachers, and staff to ensure a seamless experience for students and families.
In addition to coordinating daily logistics, Ayanna works with after-school club providers, supports team members, and ensures that all our Sherman Sharks have a safe and enriching space to learn and grow after the final bell rings. Her leadership is crucial to maintaining the Sherman CLC’s smooth operation and keeping students engaged, inspired, and connected.
Ayanna was born in Hastings and raised in Omaha. She graduated from Papillion-La Vista High School and is currently working toward her associate’s degree in early childhood education. She brings a passion for learning and a deep love for children into every part of her work.
“I love working in this position because I get to be the light for my team and the children and live out my purpose every day,” she said.
When she’s not at Sherman, Ayanna enjoys walking her mini labradoodle, crocheting, sitting on her balcony, and going on date nights with her husband, TJ. Ayanna also serves in her church, bringing the same spirit of care and purpose into her daily work.
We’re so glad Ayanna is on our team! She’s at ay*************@***********ka.org.
