The election is over. But community connection, civic involvement, and faith in our institutions are paramount, especially now. At Civic Nebraska, our work is centered on the idea of Nebraskans coming together to strengthen their communities and strengthening democracy.
Throughout this pandemic year, we’ve provided Nebraskans with essential tools to be engaged, informed, critically thinking members of our democracy. In addition to helping Nebraskans understand their roles, rights, and responsibilities about voting amid a pandemic, we also trained and deployed nearly 200 nonpartisan election observers to polling sites around the state to ensure a free and fair election. And, we organized across the state to ensure all Nebraskans were counted in the 2020 U.S. Census.
Then there’s CIVIC U., our digital learning hub for Nebraskans of all ages. Launched in May, CIVIC U. features hours of content that builds critical thinking, community engagement, and collaboration skills. Our programming helps young Americans, defenders of democracy, and community advocates to become the change they seek. If you haven’t yet, check it out. We think you’ll like what you see.
Protecting and strengthening our democracy doesn’t stop, especially during a global pandemic. Civic Nebraska’s work is vital to our communities and our state and we can’t do it without your support.
On this #GivingTuesday, please donate to democracy by supporting Civic Nebraska.
Thank you, sincerely, for your support!
